BSADD and IEEE Computer Society BUET Student Branch Chapter arranged a webinar titled “Hands on Security” which marked the beginning of “TechLive” – series webinars that has been mainly designed for the tech enthusiasts who want to break in as a professional in the tech industry and pursue a tech career. The speaker of this webinar was Mahdi Mashrur Matin, CA manager & Information Security Consultant to BGD-e-GOV-CIRT (Cyber Incident Response Team), under the ICT division of Bangladesh Government.

The live webinar started at exactly 09:00 pm with Mahmud Mushfique, co-ordinator of BSADD, initiating the session with a brief introduction about the idea of arranging series workshops on current Computer Technologies and introducing the speaker of the first episode which was mainly on Defensive Security. He then handed over the session to Mahdi Mashrur Matin. Mr. Mahdi then presented different aspects of defensive security and the 10 underlying principles for building secure systems.
At around 09:30 pm, the host Mahmud Mushfique initiated the first Q/A session asking several questions about security principles, bug-fixing, CIA Triad etc. The rest part of the presentation followed. At around 10:10 pm, the second Q/A session was initiated from the questions taken from the comments.
The webinar ended at 10:30 pm with a note of thanks from the host.
